Health and Safety

Your course staff will discuss with you the importance of understanding risk, to support your own and others safety and how engaging with these processes can add to your employability skills. After graduation you will be expected, in any form of employment, to adhere to Health and Safety laws. The University is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment and aspires to achieve a positive health and safety culture. This requires commitment and active co-operation by staff and students alike, supported by sufficient resources, training and guidance

General Risk Assessment

Your tutors and technicians carry out risk assessments for any hazardous activities you undertake at UAL. However, when you are managing a project yourself, such as a final show piece, exhibition or event, a risk assessment is something you will undertake. The process of assessing a risk is to enable thorough project planning and is not designed to limit your ambitions. Once complete, you will discuss your risk assessment with appropriate staff who can advise and sign this off.
